A Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) is one of the most preferred business structures in India for startups, professionals, consultants, service providers, and growing businesses. Governed by the Limited Liability Partnership Act, 2008, an LLP combines the flexibility of a traditional partnership with the benefits of limited liability and a separate legal identity.
An LLP is ideal for businesses looking for legal recognition, operational flexibility, professional credibility, and protection of personal assets without the extensive compliance requirements applicable to companies.
A Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) is a separate legal entity formed by two or more persons who agree to carry on a lawful business with the objective of earning profit.
Unlike a traditional partnership firm, an LLP has its own legal identity and can own assets, enter contracts, open bank accounts, sue, and be sued in its own name.
The liability of partners is generally limited to the amount of contribution agreed by them in the LLP.
Any two or more individuals or body corporates can register an LLP in India.
